13 April 2016 – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Regional Consular Office (RCO) in La Union commenced the 2016 National Women’s Month Celebration with a Flag Raising Ceremony which was spearheaded by the Officer-In-Charge, Estellita V. Casuga, at the RCO’s waiting area in the presence of more than 300 OFWs and other Filipinos travelling overseas who were applying for their ePassports. 

Followed by a short program, RCO La Union GAD’s Focal Point Officer, Miss Lina G. Catbagan, introduced to the public the background of the celebration and mentioned the series of scheduled activities for the said event. At the end of the program, foldable fans with 2016 NWMC logo were distributed to the first 100 passport applicants in queue as they proceeded inside the Passport Processing Area. 

12 March 2016 – All RCO La Union personnel, in cooperation with TESDA-La Union, tackled the Workshop in Baking and Pastry Fundamentals through the assistance of TESDA Director, Ms. Marissa T. Alcantara and TESDA-accredited trainer, Mr. Jesus Gamata.

16 March 2016 – RCO La Union personnel joined the Regional Advocates for Gender Equality (RAGE Region I)’s GAD “Fun Walk” at 7:00 A.M. from the City Plaza to DMMMSU, a Mid-La Union campus, where various activities followed and participated in by the different government agencies in the region such as Zumba dancing, free bone-density test and free pampering services. RAGE RO I is chaired by DOLE I Assistant Regional Director, Atty. Florence Marie Gacad-Ulep.

22 March 2016 - RCO La Union also participated in the RAGE Region I’s program, “Serbisyo para kay Juan at Juana” at CSI Mall Activity Center. This event aimed to gather in one venue, all government agencies in Region I with frontline services and introduce the services offered by each agency.

During the whole day event, RCO La Union distributed passport application forms and leaflets containing list of passport requirements. A total of 50 clients visited the RCO booth for inquiries regarding passport requirements, and were given foldable fans with 2016 NWMC logo as memoirs for the said occasion. END
