The Philippines condemns the recent submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) test last April 23 as yet another provocative act of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK). The SLBM test is a serious violation of various United Nations Security Council Resolutions.

The Philippines strongly urges the DPRK to refrain from further provocations and take concrete steps to abandon its nuclear weapons and ballistic missile programs. The Philippines fully supports all efforts to bring about the denuclearization of the Korean peninsula in a peaceful manner, including the resumption of the Six-Party Talks. END
