28 August 2017 - The Philippine Embassy with the Filipino Community in Jakarta, led by Philippine Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta, participated in the ASEAN Grand Parade held on August 27 in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of ASEAN.
The ASEAN Grand Parade, hosted by the Indonesian government, gathered hundreds of participants from the ASEAN member countries and dialogue partners including participants from Indonesian government agencies and the academe.
The 100-member Philippine contingent, highlighting “It’s More Fun in the Philippines,” featured the colorful festivals across the country---Luzon’s Flowers of May, Visayas’ Ati-Atihan, and Mindanao’s Kadayawan. The Philippine contingent also showcased the iconic jeepney to symbolize our hope of moving forward together with the rest of the countries in the region.
