27 December 2017 DUBAI — The Philippine Consulate General in Dubai, together with the Filipino Ladies of Dubai and the FilClub of Dubai and the Northern Emirates, held Paskong Konsulado, a Christmas and Thanksgiving Concert for the over 200 distressed Filipinos sheltered at its MWORFC at the Philippine Consulate Grounds on December 22.

The affair, gathering over 30 of Dubai’s top artists and entertainers, aimed to bring the Holiday spirit to the OFs needing assistance and to the rest of the Filipino Community of Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Over 700 packed the Consulate grounds to watch the first-ever Concert staged for the MWORFC of Dubai.

Consul General Cortes thanked the community for partnering with the Consulate in assisting the Filipinos at the POLO center throughout the year. The community has consistently donated toiletries, food, gift items, return tickets, luggage, and various services (medical, dental, physical therapy, free calls to their relatives in the Philippines, etc.) to the Center.

The Consul General also emphasized that the Government remained deeply committed to assist all Overseas Filipinos in distress and would continue to work towards their safe return home.  END
