Pinoys in Timor-Leste Spread Christmas Cheer

DILI 14 December 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Dili hosted a pre-Christmas celebration Paskong Pinoy 2018 dubbed for the members of the Filipino Community in Timor-Leste at the Xanana Sports Center in Dili on 08 December 2018.

The party was attended by around 300 members of the Filipino Community in Timor-Leste, comprised of professionals, religious people, teachers, entrepreneurs, construction workers, and their family members.

In his Christmas message for the Community, Ambassador to Timor-Leste Abdulmaid K. Muin reminded the Filipinos present to continue being agents of goodwill between Timor-Leste and the Philippines.

“I call on the Filipinos in Timor-Leste to strengthen rapport with the local community in the spirit of Christmas, and help impart the true message of the season which is about spreading hope, love, and peace to your brothers and sisters,” Ambassador Muin remarked.

The program showcased song and dance performances by various Filipino civic groups and Philippine-owned schools in Dili, including the Aimutin Church Choir, St. Mary’s Development Center, Maharlika International School, Saint Jude Thaddeus International School, Lighthouse International School, and Heritage International School.

The guests were treated to Filipino food and raffle prizes provided by the officers of the Association of Filipinos in East Timor were given away. There were also parlor games for the children.

The Paskong Pinoy Christmas Party is an annual event hosted by the Embassy to celebrate the Christmas spirit with the members of the Filipino Community in the country. END
