PH Consulate General in Calgary Hosts Christmas, Thanksgiving Night for Filipino Community

CALGARY 18 January 2019 — The Philippine Consulate General in Calgary hosted a Christmas and Thanksgiving Night for the Filipino community at SAIT Tastemarket in Downtown Calgary on 20 December 2018.
Around 100 representatives from the Filipino community attended the event.
In his remarks, Consul General Gilberto G.B. Asuque thanked the Filipino community for their support for the Consulate General’s projects and activities in 2018. He enumerated some of the important Consulate General’s achievements this year on consular services, cultural diplomacy, economic diplomacy and political diplomacy.
Consul General Asuque called on the community to celebrate meaningfully next year’s Philippine Heritage Month. He also informed them about the 70th Anniversary of the Philippines-Canada diplomatic relations in 2019. Likewise, he shared the Consulate General’s plan to pursue its initiatives for education, energy, science and technology, and smart city cooperation between the Philippines and the province of Alberta.
