PHL Consulate General Joins 5th Kalayaan Parade at Historic Filipinotown, LA

14 June 2017 LOS ANGELES – The Philippine Consulate General joined the 5th Kalayaan Parade commemorating the 119th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence on June 03 held at the Historic Filipinotown, Los Angeles. 

The 5th Kalayaan parade was organized by the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles (FACLA) and Justice for Filipino American Veterans. Established on April 26, 1945, FACLA is considered the oldest non-profit Filipino organization in Southern California. The Kalayaan 2017 Parade was participated in by various Fil-Am organizations ranging from civic to youth, business service and religious groups. After the Parade, a short program was held inside the FACLA compound with District 13 Council member Mitch O’Farrell as its guest speaker.
