PHL Embassy Celebrates 119^th Phl Independence Day with Filipino Community in Abu Dhabi

19 June 2017 ABU DHABI – In celebration of the 119^th Anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence with the theme, “Kalayaan 2017:  Pagbabagong Sama-Samang Balikatin,” the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi held a flag ceremony with Filipino community leaders on June 10 at the Embassy function hall.

The Philippine national anthem was sung, followed by a recitation of allegiance to the Philippine flag, and invocation.

Independence Day messages of Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Secretary of Foreign Affairs Alan Peter S. Cayetano, and Secretary of Labor and Employment Silvestre H. Bello III were read by Philippine Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates Constancio R. Vingno, Jr., Third Secretary and Vice Consul Von Ryan Pangwi, and Labor Attaché Ophelia Almenario, respectively.

The celebration was attended by officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy, Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Office of the Social Welfare Attaché, Social Security System (SSS), and Pag-IBIG; members of the Philippine Ladies Circle – Abu Dhabi chaired by Madame Yoko Ramos-Vingno; heads and representatives of Philippine schools in Abu Dhabi; officers and members of the Knights of Rizal – Emarat Abu Dhabi Chapter (KOR-EADC) led by Chapter Commander Sir Antonio Morales; officers of the Bayanihan Executive Committee led by Bayanihan Chairman Engr. Jeffrey Uy; and leaders of various Filipino organizations accredited to the Philippine Embassy in Abu Dhabi.
