Filipinos in HK Comes Together for Pinoy Breakfast

Consul General Bernardita L. Catalla addresses the members of Filipino organizations, stakeholders, partners, and personnel of Hong Kong PCG for the support to her leadership during annual commemorative breakfast event, Pinoy Almusal 2017, to observe the 119th anniversary of Philippine Independence at the Chancery’s public area on June 12.

 

20 June 2017 HONG KONG — The Philippine Consulate General in Hong Kong SAR gathered members of the Filipino community to the annual Filipino breakfast on June 12 in observance of the 119th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine Independence.

Around 200 people from different Filipino organizations, partner NGOs, stakeholders, officers, and staff of the Consulate General shared the Filipino dishes at the “Pinoy Almusal 2017” at the Chancery’s Public Area.

Consul General Bernarditta L. Catalla thanked the members of the Filipino community for extending consistent support for her leadership since 2014. She also cited the Consulate General’s stronger partnership with the government of Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR).

The Independence Day messages of Honorable President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Foreign Affairs Secretary Allan Peter Cayetano, and Labor Secretary Silvestro Bello III were read by Deputy Consul General Roderico Atienza, Vice Consul Robert Quintin, and Labor Attache Jalilo Dela Torre, respectively.

This is the second of three-event celebration of the Philippine Consulate in Hong Kong for Philippine Independence Day. The dinner reception for members of Consular Corps, Hong Kong government officials, and Filipino organizations was held on June 08 at Conrad Hotel. The last event will be a cultural extravaganza at the Queen Elizabeth Stadium on June 25.
