PHL Consulate General in Macau SAR Celebrates the 119th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence
29 June 2017 MACAU — The Philippine Consulate General in Macau SAR held a diplomatic reception at the Clube Militar de Macau on June 12 in celebration of the 119th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence.
Consul General Lilybeth R. Deapera and Secretary for Administration and Justice Honorable Sonia Chan Hoi Fan led the ceremonial toast right after their respective speeches citing the success of the recent official visit of President Rodrigo Duterte in Beijing, China and the continuity of close diplomatic ties between the two countries.
A group of dancers from "Bisdak," a Filipino organization in Macau rendered a mix of classical folk dances from Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao which was lauded by 150 guests from foreign dignitaries, government sectors, business, among others.
Consul General Deapera together with the Philippine Airlines Representative Ms. Edna Dioces picked out the lucky winner of one business class return airline ticket Macau-Manila-Macau with the inclusion of domestic flight ticket of any choice of destination in the Philippines was also one of the highlights of the event.
Food and drinks were served during cocktails while Filipino pianist, Mr. Melchor Lirio played selected Filipino classical music.
