PHL Mission to the United Nations and Other International Organizations in Geneva Joins Filipino Community in 119th Phl Independence Day Celebration
04 July 2017 GENEVA —Officials, personnel and family members of the Philippine Mission to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva joined the Filipino Community in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland in their celebration of the 119th Philippine Independence Day on May 27 at the Salle Gautier in Chene Bougeries, Geneva, Switzerland.
The community celebration was spearheaded by Ugnayang Bayan, a federation of 22 Filipino community organizations based in Geneva and Vaud. This event is also part of the celebration of the 60th anniversary of Philippines-Switzerland diplomatic relations.
The celebration included stalls showcasing Filipino food and products, highlighted by a program featuring cultural performances from different Filipino community organizations.
Deputy Permanent Representative Ambassador Maria Theresa Almojuela gave her Opening Remarks, applauding the Filipino community in their efforts in keeping the Filipino spirit alive in Geneva and Vaud, Switzerland.
