Sisig, Halo-Halo, and Other Fiesta Delights at PH Independence Festivities in Norway

OSLO 25 Jun 2018 — FilCom in Norway and New Filipino Working Group, the two umbrella organizations of Filipino community in Norway, hosted Fiesta Filipino 2018 to celebrate the 120th anniversary of Philippine independence day at Youngstorget, Oslo on 09 June 2018.
Numerous Filipino organizations such as ASOR Active Service Omsorg Rekruttering, Drammen Filipino Dance Group, Hiligaynon Association of Norway, Jesus is Lord, Norway Chapter, Couples for Christ, and many more from the Filipino community celebrated with FilCom Norway, NFWG and the Philippine Embassy in Oslo.
The organizers and the Embassy personnel led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem.
In her message during the program, Ambassador to Norway Jocelyn Batoon-Garcia expressed her delight that the Filipino community in Norway were united in commemorating the Philippine National Day of the Philippines.
Food stalls sold popular Filipino food such as pork barbeque, sisig, kwek-kwek, Purefoods hotdog, and halo-halo throughout the day.
The Philippine Embassy booth gave out tourism brochures and Philippine snacks to participants who gave correct answers to questions related to Philippine independence. END
