PH Embassy in Saudi Arabia Celebrates Independence Day

RIYADH 02 July 2018 — Philippine Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Adnan V. Alonto led the officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Riyadh and its attached agencies during a flag-raising ceremony to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the declaration of Philippine independence on 12 June 2018.

The ceremony was followed by the reading of the independence day messages of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte, Vice President Maria Leonor G. Robredo, Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano, Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, Labor and Employment Secretary Silvestre H. Bello III, and Acting Social Welfare and Development Secretary Virginia Orogo by Ambassador Alonto, First Secretary and Consul General Christopher Patrick T. Aro, First Secretary and Consul Mary Jennifer D. Dingal, Third Secretary and Vice Consul Noel L. Rodriguez,  Labor Attaché Nasser S. Mustafa, and Social Welfare Attaché Maricel Deloria, respectively.

Ambassador Alonto also led the formal opening of the Filipino Artists' Exhibit at the Philippine Embassy lobby. Included in the exhibit are “La Casal Azul, A Passage between Two Worlds” by Jamie Nava Cruz, a painting exhibit by Hagod Filipino, and “Kasuotang Pilipino” by various Filipino fashion designers in Riyadh.
