Filipino Nurses Honored During PH Independence Celebration in Aruba

THE HAGUE 04 July 2018 — Ambassador to the Netherlands Jaime Victor B. Ledda led the 120th anniversary celebration of the Philippine Independence Day at Princess Wilhelmina Park in Oranjestad, Aruba on 12 June 2018.
Aruba is under the jurisdiction of the Philippine Embassy in The Hague, The Netherlands. Honorary Consul Ami Hernandez-Mendez led the preparations for the event.
The ceremony was attended by the highest officials of Aruba, including Governor Juan Alfonso Boekhoudt and Prime Minister Evelyn Wever-Croes, among other notable dignitaries.
During the event, Filipino nurses were honored at the event for their 20 years of service at Dr. Horacio E. Oduber Hospital in Aruba. Mr. Ezzard Cili’e, Director of Patient Care, lauded the Filipino nurses’ perseverance, dedication and hard work, and acknowledged their important contribution to the Aruban society as medical workers.
It is the first time that the Philippine Embassy under the leadership of Ambassador Ledda attended the annual Independence Day celebration in Aruba. END
