PH Embassy, Filipino Community in Bangkok Celebrates 120 Years of PH Independence

BANGKOK 04 July 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in Bangkok, Thailand commemorated the 120th proclamation of Philippine independence with the Filipino Community, with a flag-raising ceremony, a thanksgiving salo-salo, and consular and overseas registration services on 10 June 2018. 

The program for the flag-raising ceremony included the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, recitation of “Panunumpa sa Watawat”, welcome remarks and message by Ambassador Mary Jo A. Bernardo-Aragon, and the reading of the message of Foreign Affairs Secretary Alan Peter S. Cayetano by Deputy Chief of Mission Mary Anne Padua.

The Embassy also hosted a Filipino thanksgiving salo-salo for the Filipino Community. As a public service, the consular section was also opened to the public, with no lunch break.

Around 150 Filipinos, including Embassy personnel and their families, joined the event, while around 60 Filipinos availed themselves of consular and overseas registration services. END
