PH Embassy in Yangon Begins 121st Independence Day Celebrations
PHOTO: Ambasador to Myanmar Eduardo E. Kapunan, Jr. led the flag raising ceremony on 02 June 2019 at the Philippine Embassy in Yangon to mark the beginning of the 121st year of Philippine Independence. This will be followed by various other events in the coming days.
The Embassy officers staff and members of the Pilipinas.mm, the organization of Filipinos in Myanmar, sang the national anthem followed by the “Panunumpang Katapatan sa Watawat ng Pilipinas.” In his speech, Ambassador Kapunan shared his delight to 80 Filipinos who attended the ceremony despite of the heavy rain.
In his homily, Father Adam Dalac told the audience not to remain staring at the ascension of the Lord in heaven, but to look into the surroundings because Jesus is visible to our neighbor and to the creation. A simple breakfast followed after mass. (Yangon PE photo)
