PH Embassy in Riyadh Celebrates 124^th Anniversary of PH Independence

RIYADH 21 June 2022 — The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh conducted a short program to celebrate the 124^th Anniversary of the declaration of Philippine Independence on 12 June 2022 at the Philippine Embassy.

First, Philippine Ambassador to Riyadh Adnan V. Alonto led the flag-raising ceremony attended by the Philippine Embassy’s personnel and the visual artist groups Hagod Filipino and Kulay Pinay.

Then President Rodrigo Roa Duterte's Independence Day video message was shown to the attendees, followed by an address by Ambassador Alonto. Next, Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro L. Locsin, Jr.'s message to Overseas Filipino Communities was read by Consul General Rommel A. Romato.

The ceremony concluded with the unveiling of the landmark mural created by the Hagod Filipino and Kulay Pinay artists, which is prominently displayed at the entrance of the recently inaugurated Philippine Embassy Multi-purpose Building. The artists' individual paintings were on exhibit inside the Embassy Chancery from 10-12 June 2022 for the Malayang Obra Art Exhibit. END
