PH Embassy Celebrates 125th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence with Flag Raising Ceremony with Filipino Community in Jakarta

JAKARTA 20 June 2023 – Philippine Ambassador-designate to Indonesia Gina A. Jamoralin led the Embassy Flag Raising Ceremony commemorating the 125th Anniversary of the Declaration of Philippine Independence on 12 June 2023. The theme for the celebration, “Kalayaan 2023: Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” was highlighted during the event. The celebration also featured the Philippine Meistersingers, who led the singing of the Philippine national anthem. The award-winning and world-class choir likewise performed the songs, Ako ay Pilipino, Bagbagto, and Kalesa to enliven the event.
Deputy Permanent Representative to ASEAN Elizabeth Te, Philippine Consul General in Manado Lolita Capco, the Filipino community leaders and members, and Philippine companies in Indonesia participated in the celebration.
A Filipino breakfast consisting of tocilog, tapsilog, longsilog, pansit, pandesal, biko, and puto were served and enjoyed by the guests. END
