PH Embassy Leads Celebrations for the 125th Philippine National Day in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD 20 June 2023 — The Philippine Embassy in Islamabad led a series of commemorative activities to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the Philippine independence.
On 11 June, the Filipino community gathered together for the flag raising ceremony at the Philippine Embassy foyer, followed by the video message of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and the reading of the messages of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique Manalo and that of Defense Secretary Gilbert Teodoro. Wreaths were thereafter laid in front of the bust of the national hero, Dr. Jose Protacio Rizal. The community was treated with brunch at the Amb. Domingo Lucenario auditorium, and concluded with a community bingo.
On 12 June, a reception for the diplomatic and business community was held at the Marriott Hotel, with close to two hundred guests attending. The occasion had two Chief Guests, both well-known figures in the Pakistani Government: The Honorable Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed representing the Islamabad Capital Territory, and Mr. Rana Tanveer Hussain, Minister for Federal Education and Professional Training.
