PH Embassy in Denmark Celebrates the 125th Anniversary of Philippine Independence

FREDERIKSBERG 22 June 2023 — The Philippine Embassy in Denmark hosted a reception to celebrate the 125th Anniversary of Philippine independence on 16 June 2023 for the diplomatic corps and businesses at the Philippine residence.
Under the theme Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan, Philippine Ambassador to Denmark Leo Herrera-Lim emphasized that the Philippines “…as a nation, collectively aspire for a strongly rooted, prosperous and unified Filipino society, to move forward better prepared to confront the challenges of the 21st century and be deserving beneficiaries of the blessings of independence and freedom.” Ambassador Herrera-Lim also mentioned that the Philippines would continue to work with Denmark and other countries to pursue our shared vision of embedded sustainability in building a truly just, inclusive and prosperous world.
Guests were entertained with a thirty-minute Filipino folk/ethnic dance exhibition by the Lahing Kayumanggi Dance Company, an award-winning Filipino professional dance group based in Europe.
More than 80 dignitaries, including a large gathering of Ambassadors and senior officials of the Danish government, and business representatives attended the reception. END
