PH Embassy in Mexico Celebrates 125th Philippine Independence Day and 162nd Birthday of Dr. Jose Rizal with the Filipino Community

MEXICO 05 July 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Mexico organized a flag-raising ceremony, thanksgiving mass, and movie watching with the Filipino Community in Mexico in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence and 162nd birth anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal. A simple merienda of arroz caldo, sandwiches, cake, and melon juice was served to almost 60 guests including Embassy personnel and their families, and Filipinos based in Mexico with their foreign spouses and children. The program ended with a short open forum regarding the life of Dr. Jose Rizal after watching the short film by Mr. Nicolas B. Pichay entitled “Rizal’s Pen”. END
