CO Lucena Joins Nation in Celebrating 126th Philippine Independence with the Theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan”
DFA CO Lucena officers and staff warmly celebrate the 126th Philippine independence day anniversary
LUCENA 14 June 2024 - DFA Consular Office (CO) Lucena personnel gathered on office premises to hold a flag raising ceremony in celebration of the 126th anniversary of Philippine independence. The theme for this year’s anniversary is “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”
The ceremony was led by Administrative Officer Mr. Khristian G. Holanda. Afterwards, Head of Consular Office Ms. Maria Criselda P. Abril proceeded to read the message of the Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo on the occasion of Kalayaan 2024.
The theme, per the message of Secretary Manalo, “encapsulates the importance of honoring the sacrifice our forebears endured in their struggle for self-determination” and that "it should be a constant reminder of the significance of the continuing task of nation-building…” Sec. Manalo also related the theme to Katipunan’s initials (KKK) and called to his fellow Filipinos to be inspired by the bravery of the Katipuneros in building “our Bagong Pilipinas”, citing the branding of the current administration.
In addition, the officers and staff held a brief photo opportunity outside the office premises to show their appreciation for the celebration. END
