NEW YORK 14 June 2024 – A special flag raising ceremony was held at the Philippine Center in New York to commemorate the 126th Anniversary of Philippine Independence under this year’s theme, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” on 12 June 2024.

The ceremony was participated in by the officers and staff of the Philippine Permanent Mission to the United Nations and the Philippine Consulate General in New York. 

Independence Day messages of President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr., and Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo were played. In his message, Philippine Ambassador Jose Manuel G. Romualdez called on the Filipino Community in the United States of America and the Caribbean to unite and honor the sacrifices of our ancestors who secured our nation’s sovereignty and safeguarded our national identity.
