PH Consulate General in Shanghai Holds Flag-Raising Ceremony in Commemoration of 126th Anniversary of PH Independence

SHANGHAI 21 June 2024 – The Philippine Country Team in Shanghai joined Filipinos and Philippine government agencies around the world in the commemoration of the 126th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the holding of a solemn flag-raising ceremony on 12 June 2024 at the Main Hall of the Consulate General.

Philippine Consul General to Shanghai Dinno M. Oblena led officials and personnel of the Philippine Consulate General, the Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC)-Shanghai, and the Philippine Department of Tourism Office (PDOT)-Shanghai at the ceremony. Family members of personnel also attended.

Following the singing of the National Anthem, Consul General Oblena delivered brief remarks expounding on the theme of this year’s celebration, “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (Freedom, Future, History). 

Personnel thereafter listened to the messages for the occasion of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo, and Secretary of Trade and Industry Alfredo Pascual, as read by PCG Officials. The video message of Secretary Manalo was played.
