June Proclaimed as Philippine Independence Month in Guam
Acting Governor Joshua F. Tenorio signs Proclamation 2024-62 Proclaiming June 2024 as Philippine Independence Month
AGANA 24 June 2024– On 07 June 2024, Acting Governor Joshua F. Tenorio and Acting Lieutenant Governor Amanda Shelton signed Proclamation 2024-62 announcing June 2024 as Philippine Independence Month. The said Proclamation recognizes the unfailing dedication of Filipino-Guamanians to exalt their Philippine heritage which manifests in their active involvement in different aspects of socio-civic life on the island and for the significant contributions of Filipinos to the development of the island of Guam.
The Proclamation signing was attended by Agana PCG personnel and the officers and members of the Filipino Community of Guam (FCG). In her remarks, Consul General Rosario P. Lemque emphasized that the Proclamation not only celebrates the positive contributions of Filipinos to the development of Guam but also fosters deeper friendship between Filipinos and Guamanians. END
