Philippine Embassy in Spain Leads Flag-Raising Ceremony with Filipino Community in Spain

The Philippine Embassy in Spain officers and staff, led by Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier, together with members of the Filipino community during the singing of the Philippine national anthem at the flag-raising ceremony in the Chancery

MADRID 24 June 2024 – On 10 June 2024, the Philippine Embassy in Spain held its flag-raising ceremony in commemoration of the 126th Philippine Independence Day at the Embassy premises.  His Excellency, Ambassador Philippe J. Lhuillier, led the event and was joined by Embassy officers and staff together with the officials and members of attached agencies.  Leaders and members of the Filipino Community in Spain actively participated in the program.  Video messages/remarks of the President, the Vice President, the Foreign Affairs Secretary, National Defense Secretary, Migrant Workers Office were included in the program, with the singing of the National Anthem and also the Bagong Pilipinas hymn.

This event is an annual commemorative activity to invite all Filipino nationals in Spain to display their nationalism and loyalty to the Philippine flag. Around 70 participants attended the event and were offered a sumptuous Filipino breakfast, who wish to celebrate the National Day together with Embassy representatives. END
