Flag Raising Ceremony at the compound of the Consul General’s Official Residence

AGANA 28 June 2024 - Philippine Consulate General personnel, together with Overseas Workers Welfare Administrator (OWWA) Arnaldo “Arnell” Ignacio, OWWA-LA Welfare Officer Carmelita Raquiza, Migrant Workers Office-LA Labor Attache Macy Maglanque, and the officers and members of the Filipino Community of Guam (FCG) celebrated the 126^th anniversary of Philippine independence and the 163^rd birth anniversary of Dr. Jose P. Rizal through a flag-raising and flower-offering ceremony held at the Official Residence on 22 June 2024. 

The flower-offering on the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal was led by Consul General Rosario P. Lemque and OWWA Admin. Arnell Ignacio who was in Guam for an official visit.

After the flag-raising and the flower-offering ceremony, Consul General Rosario P. Lemque delivered the Opening Remarks. She said, “I wish to express my sincere appreciation to all of you for your presence today as we continue to celebrate the 126^th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence and the birth of our national hero Dr. Jose Rizal. May his words, deeds and ideals continue to inspire us today as we navigate the everyday challenges of life.” 

OWWA Administrator Arnell Ignacio delivered an inspirational message before the members of the FCG. He commended the FCG for being united and committed to its goal in promoting Filipino heritage and uplifting the image of every Filipino as the “Bagong Pilipino.” 

Agana PCG served Filipino breakfast, which includes longsilog (longanisa, fried rice and egg), tosilog (tosino, fried rice and egg), barakong kape and hot chocolate made from cacao. END
