AGANA 28 June 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Agana, Guam organized and attended the following culminating activities of the 2024 Independence Day Celebration in Guam which were held on 23 June 2024:

Filipino Thanksgiving Mass Celebrated at St. Anthony de Padua Parish

Agana PCG led by Philippine Consul General Rosario P. Lemque together with Senator Amanda Shelton and the members of the Filipino Community of Guam (FCG) attended the Filipino Thanksgiving Mass held at St. Anthony de Padua Parish Church in Tamuning, Guam on 22 June 2024. The Tagalog mass was officiated by Rev. Fr. Ron Pangan, a Filipino priest based in the said parish.

Wreath-laying Ceremony at the Mabini Shrine at Asan Beach Park

Agana PCG personnel led by Consul General Rosario P. Lemque participated in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Shrine of Apolinario Mabini at Asan Beach Park on 23 June 2024. The event was organized by the leaders and members of the Filipino Community of Guam.

In her message during the wreath-laying ceremony, Consul General Rosario P. Lemque underscored Apolinario Mabini’s role in attaining Philippine Independence as well as his dedication and love for our country and countrymen despite his physical disability. She said “May the life of Apolinario Mabini inspire us to continue his legacy of patriotism, courage, determination and love of country as we continue to uphold the principles of liberty and democracy in our present society.”
