PH Embassy Hosts Breakfast for Filipino Community in Sweden to Celebrate 126th Philippine Independence Anniversary

STOCKHOLM 28 June 2024– Philippine Ambassador Maria Lumen B. Isleta hosted a breakfast for the Filipino community in Stockholm, Sweden to celebrate the 126th Anniversary of the Philippine Independence Day, on 08 June 2024 (Saturday), at the Philippine Embassy Chancery.
The event started with a Flag Raising and a reading of the Pledge to the Philippine Flag. Key community leaders joined Ambassador Isleta and other Embassy officers in hoisting the flag - Ms. Angeline Rose Alferez, Ms. Letty Simpson, Mr. Noli Buhay and Mr. Florinio Tuazon. Ms. Mary Liza Magana, one of the students of the Silid Aralan sa Embahada project of the Embassy recited the Panatang Makabayan. Ambassador Isleta thereafter, read the message of H.E. Enrique A. Manalo, Secretary of Foreign Affairs.
Following the flag raising ceremony, guests were invited to witness the graduation ceremony of the students of the Silid Aralan sa Embahada - Termino II, a project carried out in collaboration with the Philippine Education Society (PES).
A “salu-salo” followed, during which guests were treated to Filipino-style breakfast (ensaladang mangga, bangsilog, longsilog, spamsilog, and tocilog) and delectable desserts, including ginataan, buko pandan, biko, leche flan, pan de coco, and assorted fruits. END
