BUENOS AIRES 11 June 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Buenos Aires commemorated the 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence with the Filipino community in Argentina on 08 June 2025 at the Embassy’s chancery.

This year’s celebration was graced by Secretary of Justice Jesus Crispin Remulla, who served as Guest of Honor and delivered the keynote address. In his remarks, Secretary Remulla emphasized the Philippine government’s commitment to justice, development, and good governance. To the delight of the Filipino community, he also recited poetry that he wrote (when he was Governor of Cavite), reflecting on the nation’s historic journey toward independence.

Ambassador Grace T. Cruz-Fabella welcomed Secretary Remulla, Undersecretary Jesse Hermogenes Andres, and the visiting delegation from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), who are in Argentina to undergo specialized training in forensic sciences.

The Ambassador also conveyed the Independence Day message of Secretary for Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo to the Filipino community, underscoring the importance of remembering the sacrifices made in the country’s struggle for independence and celebrating the collective progress of the Filipino people.

The commemoration brought together Filipinos and friends of the Philippines in Argentina in a meaningful tribute to national pride, resilience, and the shared aspiration for a stable and prosperous future. END
