CEBU 16 June 2025 — The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) Consular Office in Cebu solemnly marked the 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence in a special ceremony held on Monday, 09 June 2025 at its premises in Robinsons Galleria-Cebu, highlighting national pride, cultural heritage, and public service.

The celebration was held as part of the Consular Office in Cebu’s regular Monday flag ceremony, led by Acting Head of Consular Office Dr. Angel H. Espiritu, Jr. Employees wore traditional Filipiniana and Barong Tagalog, adding color and dignity to the occasion.

Following the flag rites, a simple but meaningful breakfast or merienda was shared among the employees, featuring local favorites such as puto (steamed rice cakes) and sikwate (traditional hot chocolate), evoking the warmth and values of the Filipino spirit.

The observance served as a reminder for personnel of the Consular Office in Cebu to remain steadfast in delivering quality, compassionate and efficient consular services to the growing transacting public across Cebu and neighboring provinces.

As a supervising Consular Office, the Consular Office in Cebu oversees operations at the Temporary Offsite Passport Service (TOPS) located at SM Seaside in Cebu City, and the Passport Satellite Office (PSO) situated at SM City Consolacion.
