Philippine Music and Cuisine Featured at 127th Independence Day Reception for Diplomatic Corps and Business Community
COPENHAGEN 17 June 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Denmark hosted the 127th Philippine Independence Day Reception for the diplomatic corps and the business community on 13 June 2025 at Sølyst - Den Kongelige Skydebane (Royal Copenhagen Shooting Society).
Guests were serenaded by the Philippine Harmony Society, a group of Filipino professionals based in Denmark, whose friendship and love for singing brought them together. Their songs “Big, Beautiful Country” and “Isang Mundo, Isang Awit” conveyed a heartfelt message of unity, goodwill, and friendship—a fitting way to celebrate the enduring bonds between nations, and a reminder of the unique power of music to transcend borders and unite people from all walks of life.
The lechon, enhanced by the gravy sauce, also starred in the reception table with guests describing it as unique, flavorful, and juicy.
In his message, Ambassador Leo M. Herrera-Lim highlighted that the occasion honors the steadfast spirit and perseverance of our country and the Filipino people in the face of adversity, and that we remember our national day with a sense of immense pride and appreciation for the women and men who made freedom and right to self-determination the cornerstones of the values that define our people. END.
