Filipino Paper Cut Artist Alberto “Badz” Magsumbol Featured at PH Embassy in Brussels’ 127th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence Celebration
BRUSSELS 09 July 2025 — Filipino paper cut artist Alberto “Badz” Magsumbol was the Philippine Embassy in Brussels’ featured artist during the Embassy’s celebration of the 127th anniversary of the proclamation of Philippine independence from 12 to 15 June 2025. This is Mr. Magsumbol’s first art and cultural mission to Belgium.
Mr. Magsumbol’s exhibit and workshops were made possible with the support of the Office of Cultural Diplomacy (OCD).
The Embassy wishes to especially thank the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Berlin, and Ms. Cecile Guidote-Alvarez, Director of Earthsavers DREAMS Ensemble/UNESCO Artist for Peace, for their generous support of Mr. Magsumbol visit to Belgium; Ms. Louise Baterna, President of Philippine Arts and Culture Exchange (PACE), for her and her organization’s valuable cooperation; and DWAN Radio and TV5, Artdialogo Asia, and GMA News Online for promoting and reporting on Mr. Magsumbol’s exhibits and workshops in Brussels.
