PH Embassy in Indonesia remembers Rizal’s martyrdom

JAKARTA, 03 January 2022 - The Philippine Embassy in Indonesia and its attached agencies commemorated the 125th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal with the theme: “Para sa Agham, Katotohanan at Buhay (Rizal for Science, Truth and Life).”
The event included the flag raising ceremony and wreath offering in front of the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal within the premises of the Embassy and its Sentro Rizal. In his remarks during the event, Chargé d’ Affaires, a.i. Bryan Dexter B. Lao remembered the works of Rizal in various fields of science and medicine, including ophthalmology, biology and zoology.
Third Secretary and Vice Consul Glenn Joseph D. Teh read, “Sa Kabataang Filipino”, national artist Virgilio S. Almario’s translation of Rizal’s original literary work, “A La Juventud Filipino”. END
