PH Embassy in Bahrain commemorates 125th anniversary of Rizal’s martyrdom

MANAMA, 30 December 2020 – The Philippine Embassy in Manama and Sentro Rizal Manama, in cooperation with Knights of Rizal - Bahrain Chapter, commemorated the 125th anniversary of the martyrdom of National Hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal on 30 December 2020 at the Embassy Chancery.

The wreath laying ceremony was led by Chargé d’ Affaires Maria Paz G. Cortes together with Chapter Commander, Mr. Emmanuel Morales and the officials of the Knights of Rizal - Bahrain Chapter, including H.E. Assistant Secretary Alfonso A. Ver, Assistant Secretary of the DFA’s Office of Middle East and African Affairs who was in Bahrain for an official visit.  Other Embassy Officials including Consul Bryan Jess Baguio, Welfare Officer and POLO Officer-In-Charge Ms. Redina C. Manlapaz and Capt. Francis Cacho, AFP-SNR to CMF also attended the event.  

Knights of Rizal Council of Elders member Mr. Elpidio Quitevis led the attendees in reminiscing the life of Rizal after the wreath laying ceremony, while past Chapter Commander Mr. Renato Caseda gave his brief remarks to close the program. END
