PH Embassy in Abu Dhabi Leads Filipino Community in UAE in Remembering Rizal’s Martyrdom on 126th Anniversary

ABU DHABI 04 January 2022 – Philippine Chargé d'Affaires to UAE Marford M. Angeles, together with the Order of the Knights of Rizal – Emarat Abu Dhabi Chapter (OKOR-EADC) headed by Knight Commander of Rizal (KCR) Dr. Jose Puno Villanueva, led the members of the Filipino community in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in a solemn wreath laying ceremony in commemorating the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine National Hero on 30 December 2022.
CDA Angeles expressed the hope that Filipinos in the UAE will continue to work towards Rizal's vision of a bright future for the Philippines. He, likewise, mentioned that the ideals and principles Rizal embodied during his lifetime and through his literary works should move each Filipino to aspire and work towards realizing our fondest dreams for our country.
The program is one of the highlights of the continuous collaboration between the Philippine Embassy's Sentro Rizal and the OKOR-EADC towards spreading awareness and interest in Dr. Jose Rizal's ideas and teachings, and their relevance to the present generation. END
