PH Embassy in Oslo Commemorates Rizal Day 2022

OSLO, 05 January 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Oslo joined the rest of the Filipino nation in commemorating the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Jose Rizal through a simple program and breakfast held at the Embassy chancery on 30 December 2022.

In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Norway Enrico T. Fos said that each Filipino is a reflection of the virtues of the Philippine national hero as he goes about his daily life.  

“As we work hard and do our best for our families and for our country, we are showing to the world the values that Dr. Rizal have fought for—hard work, love of country, and sense of community.  It is my hope that we would continue to honor his memory through doing our best for our families and for our countrymen, especially here in Norway,” Ambassador Fos said.  He also read the message of Foreign Affairs Secretary Enrique A. Manalo during the event.

Minister and Consul Raul Dado also shared an exposition on the life and times of Dr. Rizal, which was the source for a game facilitated by Second Secretary and Consul Glenn Joseph Obach.  

The event ended with a floral offering before Dr. Rizal´s bust located at the Embassy´s receiving area, and a simple breakfast among Embassy officers and staff. END
