PH Embassy in Jakarta Commemorates 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal

JAKARTA, 05 January 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Jakarta commemorated the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal in a simple ceremony at the chancery bringing together embassy and attached agency personnel to listen to Canto del Viajero (“Awit ng Biyahero”) as read by Third Secretary and Vice Consul Maricar S. Yambao on 30 December 2022.

With the theme “Rizal: Alaalang Iningatan, Yaman Ngayon ng Bayan (Rizal: Preserved Memories, Treasured Today by the Nation), the solemn event was started with a wreath offering by Chargé d’ Affaires Bryan Dexter B. Lao, in front of the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal.

The National Historical Commission of the Philippines’ “Sa Landas ng Paglaya” video documentary was also shown during the Embassy event. END
