Rizal’s Martyrdom Commemorated in Rabat
RABAT 06 January 2023 – In commemoration of the 126th Anniversary of the Death and Martyrdom of Philippine National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal, the Philippine Embassy in Rabat, Morocco hosted a wreath laying ceremony attended by its officers and staff on 30 December 2022.
In his remarks, Philippine Ambassador to Morocco Leslie J. Baja reflected on the commitment and sacrifice of Dr. Jose Rizal, noting the legacy he left behind as one of the first overseas Filipinos in Philippine history. He also thanked the Embassy personnel for the hard work and dedication they demonstrated in the past year and encouraged them to emulate the values of Dr. Jose Rizal as they continue to serve the interests and protect the rights of Filipinos abroad in the coming year.
