The Philippine Embassy in Mexico Commemorates the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal

MEXICO 09 January 2023 -  In commemoration of the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Jose Rizal with this year’s theme: “Rizal: Alaalang Iningatan, Yaman Ngayon ng Bayan,” the Philippine Embassy in Mexico organized a flag raising ceremony followed by a wreath-laying activity on 29 December 2022.

The event commenced with the singing of the Philippine National Anthem followed by the recitation of the Panunumpa sa Watawat ng Pilipinas and the wreath laying ceremony at the bust of Dr. Jose Rizal at the Embassy lobby.  Then the reading of the message of the Secretary of Foreign Affairs Enrique A. Manalo.

It was then followed by the reading of the “Mi Ultimo Adios” in Spanish by Chargé d’Affaires John G. Reyes and the reading of the English version by all the Embassy officers and staff. Then the documentary film showing of “Jose Rizal: Ang Buhay ng Isang Bayani.” 

The said documentary film is a must-see and it has awakened the Embassy personnel´s patriotic feelings.
