PH Embassy in Hanoi Commemorates the 126th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose P. Rizal

HANOI, 10 January 2023 – The Philippine Embassy in Hanoi celebrated the 126th anniversary of the martyrdom of Philippine national hero Dr. Jose P. Rizal with the theme “Rizal: Alaalang Iningatan, Yaman Ngayon ng Bayan” (Rizal: Preserved Memories. Treasured Today by the Nation). The ceremony was led by Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam Meynardo LB. Montealegre and was attended by the Filipino scholars, some members of the Filipino community, including officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy. 

After the wreath-laying ceremony, the Embassy had a breakfast get-together with the Filipino community members and scholars. During this portion of the event, the films “Rizal’s Pen” and “Canto del Viajero” (“Awit ng Biyahero”) were played at the Chancery’s Sentro Rizal Library helping relieve the heroism of Dr. Rizal.
