PH Embassy in Oslo Honors Dr. Jose P. Rizal on His 127th Death Anniversary

OSLO 03 January 2024 – Philippine Ambassador to Norway Enrico T. Fos led the flower laying ceremony at the Philippine Embassy in Oslo to commemorate the 127th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Jose Rizal.
Ambassador Fos underscored the significance of observing national occasions like this collectively. It is through this that a community is refreshed about its national identity and its commitment to the nation´s shared ideals and values that span generations.
In his Message during the ceremony, Ambassador Fos further highlighted how Rizal represented his people well in his relations overseas, and that he was essentially a true Filipino diplomat when he travelled the world back then. Indeed, the national hero was way ahead of his time. Remembering and honoring Rizal’s life, patriotism and sacrifice for the Philippines in commemorations up to this day is a testament that he is the “Foundation of the Past, Living Today.”
A lunch reception and documentary film-showing followed the ceremony at the Chancery. END
