PH Embassy in Lebanon Commemorates 128th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of Dr. Jose Rizal

BEIRUT 10 January 2025 — The Philippine Embassy in Lebanon commemorated the 128th anniversary of the martyrdom of our national hero, through a wreath-laying ceremony at the Chancery’s Sentro Rizal.
Displayed beside Dr. Jose P. Rizal’s bust are the Embassies’ copies of his two most notable works, Noli Me Tangere (Touch Me Not) and El Filibusterismo (The Filibuster) as well as other novels that follow the national hero’s life.
With the theme “Rizal in the New Philippines: Life and Teachings as our Guide,” the Embassy remembered Dr. Rizal’s life and looked to his works as a guide in public service towards a free and progressive Philippines. END
