PHL Embassy in Turkey Joins the Celebration of International Women’s Day

12 March 2018 ANKARA – The Philippine Embassy in Ankara, Turkey is proud to join the celebration of the International Women’s Day on March 08 and National Women’s Month with the theme “We Make Change Work for Women” which will be observed from March 01 to 31 in the Philippines. The Philippine Embassy will commemorate the occasion with the following activities:

  1. Photo Exhibit entitled “The Filipina: Trail-blazers, Decision-makers, Leaders and Advocates” on March 11 at the Philippine Embassy;
  2. Launching of the photo exhibit in digital format, March 11 at the Philippine Embassy;
  3. Post Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS), March 18 at the Auditorium of the National Library of Turkey;
  4. Digital photo exhibit in Istanbul during the monthly consular mission on March 25;
  5. Digital photo exhibit in Baku, Azerbaijan during the consular mission in April 2018.

On its 4th run, the "Filipina: Trail-blazers, Decision-makers, Leaders and Advocates” Photo Exhibit is an evolving collection of historical and modern Filipino women who have excelled in their respective fields. The showcase is aimed at inspiring younger generations of Filipino nationals and other nationalities to emulate the life and work of earlier generations of strong and resilient Filipino women who have effected change in the Philippines and across the globe.

The Embassy will also organize a Post Arrival Orientation Seminar (PAOS) for Filipino workers in Turkey and invite resource speakers from the Turkish Ministry of Labor and Social Security (CSGB), Directorate General for Migration Management (DGMM), Turkish Employment Agency (ISKUR) and the Social Security Institution (SGK) to speak about labor and immigration laws and other relevant regulations affecting foreign workers in Turkey.
