PHL Embassy in the Hague Honors Women on International Women’s Day
The day’s first applicant, Ms. Monica Joy Matildo gladly receives this meaningful gesture of global recognition of the many achievements of women from Embassy’s Legal Officer-Attaché Mr. Edgar Adolfo V. Guibone (right) and Consular Assistant Mr. Anacleto T. Diego, Jr. (left) as frontline consular personnel.
12 March 2018 – The Philippine Embassy in The Hague launched its celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD) with flowers and coffee for its women applicants for consular services. The event complements the Embassy’s month-long celebration of Philippine “National Women’s Month’’ from March 01 to 31, as enjoined by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), with activities that include a GAD information-session training for “au pairs” on March 17 and continuing distribution of pocket-sized copies of RA 9710, Magna Carta of Women to the public at its Consular premises. Visa Officer-Attaché Mr. Redeem B. Tornilla gleefully hands a ‘’mimosa flower”, which is believed to be IWD’s symbolic flower, to the delight of Ms. Lucky de Saram who gamely remarked, “I will make my husband jealous with this flower I received from your Embassy”.
