28 July 2016 – The Kaloob Music and Dance Ministry, a group dedicated to the preservation and promotion of Philippine music and dance, showcased a full repertoire of Philippine dances during a series of performances in the city of Banha on July 20 and the Sayed Darwish Theater, Academy of Arts in El Haram, Giza on July 21 and 23.
The Kaloob troupe enthralled the crowd at both venues with a sampling of 21 dances from various Philippine cultural influences, from folk staples like the tinikling and pandanggo sa ilaw to selections from indigenous and Muslim communities. The performances formed part of the year-long celebration of the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Egypt.
