28 July 2016- On 20 July 2016, Philippine Ambassador to Portugal Philippe J. Lhuillier as Dean of the resident Ambassadors of the Asia Group in Portugal organized a courtesy call on His Excellency Marcelo Rebelo De Sousa, President of the Portuguese Republic.

The courtesy call which was held at the Presidential Palace in Belém provided an opportunity for the Ambassadors of Asian countries who are based in Portugal to discuss with President Rebelo De Sousa Portugal’s engagement and relations in Asia. It was also an opportunity to exchange ideas on how to develop more dynamic economic relations between Portugal and countries in the Asian region. 

Accompanying Ambassador Lhuillier in the courtesy call were the Ambassadors of Bangladesh, Japan, Indonesia, East Timor, South Korea, China, Thailand, Australia and the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Pakistan. END.
