03 August 2016- The Philippine Embassy, represented by Consul General Victorio Dimagiba, Jr., and Labor Attache Ramon Tionloc attended the launch of the Centre for Domestic Employee’s (CDE) Mobile CDE van at the Paya Lebar MRT Station on July 31
Mr. Sam Tan, Minister of State for Manpower, together with Mr. Yeo Guat Kwang, Chairman of CDE led the official unveiling of the program.
The Mobile CDE initiative aims to enable domestic employees in obtaining on-the-spot advisory related to employment issues. In addition, employers of foreign domestic employees may also seek advice from the staff on duty.
The Philippine Embassy, through the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO), is working closely with CDE in making sure that these services are easily accessible to Household Service Workers (HSWs).
The CDE, which is spearheaded by the National Trade Union Congress (NTUC) of Singapore, hopes to make sure that the mobile CDE van will conduct its rounds every weekend at various stops in Singapore to bring the much-needed services and assistance closer to the many HSWs. END
