03 August 2016— The Philippines assumed the Chairmanship of the ASEAN New Delhi Committee (ANDC) during the 105th ASEAN ANDC Heads of Missions Meeting at Taj Palace Hotel on July 28.
H.E. Ung Khin Soe, Ambassador of Myanmar turned over the ANDC Chairmanship to H.E. Ma. Teresita C. Daza, Ambassador of the Philippines as the incoming ANDC Chair from August 2016 to January 2017.
Philippine Ambassador Ma. Teresita C. Daza presented key priorities under her term such as regular interactions among ASEAN, increased engagement with different groups and sectors in India, one high-visibility project, as well as continuing assistance, when required, in the preparation of the 50th Anniversary of ASEAN and 25th ASEAN-India Commemorative Celebrations in 2017.
During the ASEAN Heads of Missions Meeting, the ASEAN member states discussed key visits and activities with India from January to June 2016 and outstanding and future ANDC initiatives. END
