08 August 2016 – Philippines Ambassador to Myanmar Alex G. Chua met with three officials of Jollibee Foods Corporation led by Mr. Dennis Flores, Vice President and Head of International Operations, on August 02 to discuss the company’s interest to invest in Myanmar.
After a market feasibility study in Myanmar last year, Jollibee is now keen on establishing a branch in Myanmar. Jollibee currently has branches in Brunei, Singapore and Vietnam.
Ambassador Chua expressed optimism that Jollibee will be popular not only with the Filipino community but also among the local consumers in Myanmar.
Minister and Consul General Maria Lourdes Salcedo met with representatives of IGE Group of Companies and Manila Water Company on August 03. U Yan Naing Moe, Marketing Manager of IGE Group of Companies, said that they are looking for foreign partners to realize their infrastructure and energy projects. These projects would require engineering, procurement and construction.
The IGE officials were given a list of construction and engineering companies that participated in the construction industry mission to Myanmar in October 2014. Mr. Michael Rico of Manila Water informed the IGE officials that its request was referred to Makati Development Corporation, an affiliate of Manila Water Company and Ayala Corporation.
Like Ayala Corporation, IGE has a diverse business portfolio covering real estate, infrastructure, energy, telecoms, financial services, and hotels. END
